Second language tree finished!

I finished the tree for Portuguese, and just now for French. I've used both of these languages in the real world, and it's a good accomplishment for me. My strategy for reviewing is to finish the tree top to bottom, without strengthening or shining any topics, then shining the verbs 3/5,4/5 then 5/5 progressively. I then go ahead and read a formal grammar book cover to cover and try to handle immersion and strengthening what I'm bad at. My motivation for this is wanting to be involved in a global career that involves a large amount of travel to Latin America, Canada and the Caribbean. I'm in grad school right now and facing employment realities; if I am unable to function globally, my options would be very limited. I imagine that Duolingo will help me meet my career goals as much as some of my graduate courses. It has also inspired me to brush up on my math using Khan Academy. Next tree will be Spanish, then German. And I hope to pass the progress quizzes for French and Portuguese at 5.0 before June. This tool is very helpful to be combined with a formal grammar, and it advances at a more natural pace than any course I've ever taken. I am thankful to the whole community and the company for developing such a valuable asset for self-study.

Good job! I recently finished my Italian tree (technically second, though I don't include it because I knew Spanish before DuoLingo was created.) I need to review it more and get it back to gold, though.

Congratulations! I'm planning to start my Portuguese tree after I'm satisfied with my Spanish and French. I did a few lessons to try it out. How do you find Duolingo's TTS (voice) for Portuguese?

I turned it off it was very unhelpful for my local accent. I'm living in Brazil, so I have enough contact with accents and phonics.

Awesome job! I'm working on my second tree now (first was Spanish). I have 35 topics left, with any luck I'll finish sometime between May and July!
