canciones

Hi, could any let me know of any good songs in Spanish that I could listen to while driving? I am trying to immerse myself in all things Spanish so I might one day be able to speak Spanish fluently. Thank you for your time in reading this and thanks for any and all suggested songs. Have a great day and good luck with your endeavors with Duolingo.

Get Linda Ronstadts "Canciones de mi Padre" ... it is the number 1 selling non-english selling album of all time in the U.S. Fun album...you can also watch the concert version on YouTube first before you decide if it is for you.

This is a classic: La Bruja: http://youtu.be/6BxlLFTB2Qw

These two are slow enough you should recognize words and be able to sing along:

Volver, Volver: http://youtu.be/zpAk2PZ9OJI

La Pistola y el Corazon http://youtu.be/XYLirU_oY3Q

Lila Downs, La Llorona: http://youtu.be/iq3dJgUyM_c

Well, what kinds of music do you like?

Honestly, if you search here, you can find some popular Spanish songs of many genres.

Someone posted a good list yesterday. https://www.duolingo.com/comment/7659829

It should be someone you like because then you'll be more motivated to listen. I love Alejandro Fernandez's songs, so that works for me. I also like Diego Torres, especially Sueños and Color Esperanza; the lyrics are clear and the vocabulary is fairly basic (which can not be said of Alejandro!), and the songs are happy and optimistic, which is a plus.

If you try to sing along, it's great pronunciation practice. The immigrants I know who study via English songs have the very best pronunciation.

I recommend Jesse y Joy, Camila, and Samo. Those are my favorites.

Shakira makes great music. I prefer the spanish versions over the english ones. Some of my personal favourites are:

Suerte Loca Si te vas Ojos asi Las de la intuicion Rabiosa Te aviso, te anuncio La tortura

Andres Calamaro is a good artist. Try searching "Flaca - Andres Calamaro" on youtube.
