Hahaha... It reminds me of when me and a friend ordered from the "giant-sized" pasta menu and got more than we bargained for. My friend once, 30 minutes after starting the dinner, exclaimed "I can see the bottom of my plate!... If I move some pasta over here". So, I imagine the speaker who says "I can see the edge of my sandwich" bought a record-breaking mile-long sub and now they've eaten so much that they can see the edge of it far in the distance.

It is a mistake. Sanduíche is only masculine.
