Is there a shorthand version of "televisión" in Spanish?

Gracias!

As a side note, is it suggested that people reply with a "thank you" when a question is answered?

Most people that i know use TV as an abreviation pronounced (tee-vee). I believe this is acceptable in spanish also. (The owl accepted it)

In England people say "on tele (telly)" or "on the box", but as above "on television - but rarely "on the television". We have to have a licence to use one, the fee pays for the BBC. When you reach 75 the licence comes to you free, so I am no longer obliged to pay for other people to watch the thing.

Isn't the correct translation of "en" "in"? So shouldn't the translation be "my city is in the television". I guess that in English, that isn't grammatically correct, but it makes sense :/

Why would a city be in a TV? My city wont fit in a TV unless it is in the news or there is a feature about my city, which is what I think they meant.
