[HiNative]: where you can ask native speakers any language and culture question
Found an interesting site, which includes apps. Perhaps some of you already know of it because it is made by the same guys as Lang-8.
It lets you ask any quick language or cultural question you like. It has categories for the most common types of question. It also lets you give audio for people to check, answer with or test accent, etc.
I still cannot figure out how to reply to a specific answer already and also it is a bit tricky to know if you have answered a question within a long stream of questions, but otherwise looks quite promising.
It is a useful site indeed. I have answered some questions about Finnish in the past, and asked some about Indonesian, getting prompt replies. However, lately both of those sections have been very quiet, and I'm a bit worried that some users (like me) who are mainly answering questions about their own language might forget about the site. So its good that it's being shared here to hopefully attract more people, leading to more questions and answers.
Yes, I could see how that could happen.
By contrast, I checked out the English questions and it is insanely busy!
I hope they make it known into other languages on the Net too. Word of mouth may not be enough.
