on the ipad the Soguk sounds like the english work 'sew' you can't hear the g or the K. Also, what is the TTS?

So are the pronunciations on Duolingo not recordings? Their text to speech?

I know now that certain of the courses have actual recorded voices, and others are TTS.

That's really awful if that's the case, because I have experience with TTS like IVONA and it's not good for language impartation.

I'm not personally familiar with any TTS programs, so I can't speak to that.

It's from IVONA. The name of the TTS is Filiz or something like that.... I think

The 'k' sound is very subtle here. Is is common to not emphasize the last consonant sound (as in french)?

no, it shouldn't be that subtle, it is the TTS...
