What is the difference in "Por," and "Para?"

I couldn't find anything in grammar notes, and I couldn't find a discussion on it, so could somebody help me out with this?

Por and Para are hair pullers for sure when you are learning Spanish. Nice little practice exercise. http://www.spanishnewyork.com/automatic/porpara.php
