Lost my streak.........
I really though I had bought the streak freeze, but unfortunately I had not. Now I lost my 38 day streak.. However, I am not here to built up a streak, I am here to learn :)

I must say your determination is awesome.
I almost lost my 145 day streak this weekend but I somehow got my brother to get a streak freeze in time (I had to tell him my password...)
Hope your build up your streak again. Just because you're here only to learn doesn't mean having a streak is a sin. :P
Good luck. Have a lingot ('cause I have too many...)! :D
Here's something that will make you cry...well sort of. In 27 days I'm leaving for Spain for 2 months and at sometime while I am there I will probably lose my streak. Right now I have a 516 day streak. I don't miss a day on duo lingo. I get up in the morning and study while I have my morning Tea and then during the day I usually do a lesson review to make sure my tree stays Gold and then at night I study for at least an hour or more to continue the learning. It has become a real part of my life. The studying everyday on Duo and keeping my streak and then losing it is the part that makes you want to cry,.....BUT the great part is that I'm going to Spain for two months and will be able to put the gift that Duolingo has given me into action and that makes up for the loss of the streak. I am truly thankful for Duolingo, because I would not be a far along in Spanish as I am now if it weren't for this program. I am by no means fluent in Spanish yet and probably won't be when I come back in two months but it will give me the confidence that I need to go into the Hispanic community here and volunteer to help in anyway that I can. I feel that for me, this is truly a gift and when you receive a gift it is only right to repay it by giving something back. you are right you didn't come here to build a streak but to learn Spanish and the streak is only a by-product of that learning process which drives you to that end. good luck and keep studying.
I will start a new streak when I get back and in a year and a half I'll have my 500 day plus streak back. Thank you to Duolingo and the entire Duo community for all the help and support that you've given me. I will be back.
I love the "However, I am not here to built up a streak, I am here to learn :)".
I know that losing a streak is bad, specially when it's a long one, but [the best users say this and I think it's an amazing sentence]: Your knowledge won't be lost or stolen by anybody or anything ;)
Keep it up! :)
lost a 70 day streak followed by a 10 day pause... I know how it feels, but on the other hand I feel like a little break has done me some good. I was worried I would have forgotten alot in little time, but to my surprise most stuff still sticks and I am more motivated then I was before (like I was when I started out). Maintaining the streak was beginning to feel like a chore, its nice to take a few days off... of course I am planning on rebuilding my streak again.
It amazes me how some people manage to keep up 100+ day streaks. I think the longest I've gone is 30 days. It doesn't take long to accumulate XPs in a given day, just a few minutes. However, things happen and we can't always get to Duolingo when we want. I antcipate my streak ending when I go on vacation this May. I'll be in a remote cabin with limited to no Internet access.
