Free reports [Have a different problem? Explain it here]
In the report section, we have a box where you can type in whatever you want to explain a problem.
However, we realized that many of you don't really understand what this is for.
This is for sure not for asking questions. Many of you ask for explanations there. Ask your questions in the sentence discussion. Or you write things like "I am not really sure my sentence is correct but hmm maybe it is". Don't bother to write that :)
Reports are anonymous, we don't see who wrote them, and we cannot answer them. We'll just read them and if we agree, we'll make necessary changes.
Some of you click "my answer should be accepted" and then write the same thing/copy the sentence to the free writing box. You really don't need to do that, you just spend time repeating the same thing and make us read the same thing twice :)
You can use that box to report issues with the translations and hints.
Thanks for your reports and cooperation to make this course better! Selcen
Where can I report bugs or other problems that aren't directly connected to a specific sentence? I just finished one of the adverb sections, but I was congratulated for strengthening food. Sometimes I'll make a mistake on the final sentence of a section, and I should actually lose a point, but I'm often congratulated anyway. I also found what I think was a mistake in the summary of the cases. The dative and the accusative had the same ending (kuşlara, I think).
for typos in tips and notes please write on Alexs stream. you can open a new discussion for other problems. If it is not directly related to our course (e.g. I just finished one of the adverb sections, but I was congratulated for strengthening food. Sometimes I'll make a mistake on the final sentence of a section, and I should actually lose a point, but I'm often congratulated anyway.), you should write it in the troubleshooting section though.
One more thing you shouldn't report: explanations in Turkish as hints. Some of you keep writing that we forgot them there; however, this is not because of us. This is because Duolingo's system uses one database for hints for courses in both direction (Tr for En, En for Tr)
Does this box fall under the same issue that Hohenems posted about the other day? He mentioned that the comments from the "other" box don't actually show up anywhere. Hm...but then, I suppose if you just said that you see what people are typing there....nevermind.
...but, for the purposes of having a reason to not just delete this comment before I make it, does the "other" box just happen to work for Turkish and not the others, or was the issue fixed in general?
