A great way to practice and a lot of fun. What is an apple professor? Sounds fanciful.

A couple of notes: looks like a typo on line four, should be "Las" naranjas. The next sentence isn't grammatical "Juan y Adriana "son van" (??) a tener un hombre etc. Maybe you mean: J y A "van a tener" un hombre para (or is it por?) ser un guardia para las naranjas. That is, that they are going to get a man to be a guard. I'm sure others with a better command of Spanish will weigh in help us out!

A great effort. Don't think I have attempted so many lines when I was level 8 (or maybe even now). A few corrections.

  • de el must always be contracted to del
  • la manzanas should be las manzanas

Thanks, I should have got those. I wonder if I should edit my post every time I get a correction?? I have the original story saved elsewhere, so maybe I should?

Oops, I should have put "las" naranjas. As for the next line, yes "van a tener" sounds like it would work, I hope someone comes to tell us how it should be. Your English translation is exactly what I meant. And I have no idea if it is "para" or "por", haha.

And an apple professor is someone who studies apples. A professor of apples, haha. I took the same liberties Duolingo takes and made something up. :-)

they are going to get a man to be a guard.

For this, I will probably rephrase the sentence as El guardia Juan y la Profesora Adriana son van a conseguir a un hombre para ser el guardia.

A professor of apples

Probably, Una profesor de las manzanas

I maybe wrong on both counts, still trying to make my way around :)

I phrased it in that way because those were words I mostly knew already. But yes, it probably could have been "conseguir a" and would have sounded better. As for "una profesora de las manzanas", it could be and if anyone knows for sure, they are welcome to say so.

I like it, pretty good. How is it a history lesson though?

"Historia" also means "story" as far as I could tell. There are other words I could have used also. Does anyone know if "historia" is used more for "history" or can it be either "history" or "story"?
