SPEAK OPTION IN PORTUGUESE

Why isn't there a speak option in the Portuguese as there is in French? I'd like more of an opportunity to practise speaking the language. Could this be included.

There also isn't one in Italian. That's because these two languages were the last to be added to the site.

Yeah, Portuguese was in Beta until only a few months ago, and Italian emerged from Beta only a little before that. Italian and Portuguese are not as polished as the rest.

I'm glad I found your question because I just started using duolingo for Portuguese after my wife told me she's been using the Spanish version. She told me in the Spanish she speaks, so I've kind of been waiting to speak, and nothing yet. Thought I was going crazy. I was kind of hoping to see it later as I progress. Sounds like it's not there yet. Oh well, looks like I have a date with Rosetta and Duolingo. I like doing both because duolingo helps to explain words, where Rosetta just moves forward without much explanation.

wonder when I'll get to speak with duolingo since I use it weekly when I travel. Can't take Rosetta with me. Thanks!
