FINISHED MY PORTUGUESE TREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hooray!!!!!!! Woohoooooo!!!! I have finished my Portuguese tree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Learning Portuguese on Duolingo has been an absolutely incredible experience! I just have to thank the Portuguese team for making such an incredible course and creating such thorough notes to go along with it. This is my fifth tree (after French, German, Irish, and Swedish), and I would like to share some of my thoughts about this language compared to others! Portuguese has been one of the easiest languages for me to learn. It took me only about two and a half months (I think)! I can see close similarities between Portuguese and both French and English, which makes it an easier language to learn. The notes that go along with the lessons in the course have been really helpful, too! I also need to thank the people who have been extremely helpful along the way. I don't know what I would have done without your advice and tips! Now that I have finished the course, I need to find some good ways to practice. I have been reading the online version of Jornal do Brazil, and I am planning on starting translating in the immersion section. If anyone else has other suggestions, I would greatly appreciate them! Again, thank you so much to the Portuguese team for a great course!
Conheço um americano que me indicou estes podcasts:
1) Portuguese learning - Awesome site: http://coerll.utexas.edu/brazilpod/
2) Conversa Brasileira teaches Portuguese awesomely
3) Tá Falado is a Portuguese for Spanish Speakers Podcast
4) Brazilian Portuguese Pod was a good one, but they don't seem to be online anymore.
5) Here's another one I found, but don't know how quality it is: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/learn-portuguese-brazilianpodclass/id261185732?mt=2
6) Som Pra Viagem is one with interviews with upcoming musicians that is really good but to understand it you need to be at at least an intermediate level: http://tunein.com/radio/Som-Pra-Viagem-Podcast-BR-p362247/
But I have never heard any of them cause I'm brazilian. xD
Good luck bro (Break a leg?)
parabens! Pra melhorar teu português tu podes assistir programas em português ou ir pro Brasil/Portugal (tanto faz)
Boa sorte com teus estudos
Obrigado! Some lessons on the tree have grammar notes to go with them. Although other courses may have more notes, the notes that the Portuguese tree does have are very helpful.
There are a LOT of notes and tips on the web version (not the app) as well as forum style discussions that go along with every single exercise
Ah Sim. Sometimes I forget to look at when these posts were made. Sounds like Duolingo has changed a lot over time
lindo maravilhoso! I'm learning it too but I'm on a baby level. I'm noticing a lot of similarities with Spanish that's helping speed up the process. Hope to join your ranks soon!
Obrigado! I would like to learn Spanish, but I'm afraid that I'll get confused. Do you get confused at all between the two?
Well, after German, I got Italian (and Italian is quite Portuguese, so it was way easy).
Now I'm doing French, and I have that same fear....if I get crazy, I tell you. That's why I'm holding back Spanish for a while (although I can comunicate easily if I don't have to talk much).
I won't say I get confused but sometimes I get frustrated with the pronunciation. For example one word may mean the same in both languages, be so similar yet pronounced differently sooo I have to keep reminding myself it's an adjustment
olalaa this very niiice, happy day to you and celebrate this like corky buchek's birthday in the kazakh style !
Parabéns! Continue praticando bastante pra não esquecer nada, e legal ver alguém se interessando pelo português!
Parabéns! I know it took a lot of time and a lot of hard work, so I gave you a Lingot! Like some people have said, I would recommend doing the reverse (English for Portuguese Speakers), or do Spanish. There are many similarities between Spanish and Portuguese, (and yes, sometimes you will get mixed up between the two, but you won't be completely thrown off track) but it's going to be pretty easy to learn since you learned Portuguese. Again, parabéns! :D
PARABÉNS MEU CARO! VOCÊ MERECE! ASSIM É QUE É! FELICIDADES! Rio Grande do Sul, BR.
You are welcome ! I am brazilian, if you need some help with portugues tell me ! :D
hello talk, shared talk, skype, whatsapp, the mixer, you can google them. Parabéns, you are unbelievable. Congratulations
Well done! It took me a whole year to finish my tree, but I found it hard. I keep revising and hoping that more will stay in my mind. I dare not try another language as I think I'd only get confused.
