In a little over 5 weeks I've reached level 10 German. I love duolingo! Forced to take a break now but can't wait to come back for more. Please duolingo can we have Welsh and maybe Russian?
I am very surprised with your progress! Have you reached level 10 Deutsch in only one month? How did you do that? Can you speak or read some average of Deutsch well? I am struggling to practice and improve my skills and, still can't translate properly. I don't have much time; have others thinks to do but, somehow, it is a impressive done. Congratulations!!!!
You're a quick learner! And Russian is already in the incubator. It's 74% done.
Thanks! I think I've picked up the German quickly because I spoke Welsh as a child, so I'm used to getting my tongue around the sounds! Most of the credit must go to the easy to use duolingo system though, I love it. Im impressed by others who can dabble in many languages at once. I don't seem able to do that, I've tried, but have to concentrate on one at a time.
Well, most people tend to focus on one or two languages! But there's often also a bit of dabbling with other languages just for fun. Currently, I'm focusing on my Spanish but I also did a bit of Irish one or two months ago and I did the placement test in French to see how I much I remember (obviously, not much). I also had the German icon (also the placement test) and the Dutch icon (only did the first few lessons once) but removed these again. The icons tend to give the impression that you learn all these languages... But in fact, it's just showing that at some point you spent some time with doing lessons in that language.
Indeed, I am the same way. I'm trying to focus the bulk of my attention on German although it's incredibly tempting to add an additional language for fun.
I would love to try learning French for fun as I have done some previously, but am trying to focus on German and not add anymore languages until I am on Level 10- however long that may take! Congratulations for fast progress.
