multi-learners

I am learning spanish currently but wish to learn portuguese here also ho do i keep my words straight. spanish would be my 2nd language. any advice on how to learn a 2nd and 3rd language. I have friends that speak spanish so practicing that should be easy how do i not get portuguese confused with my spanish words?

I wouldn't worry - there is a lot of overlap between Spanish and Italian too but overall I have found this to be a help rather than a hindrance in studying both.

A principle to keep in mind: the brain is constantly aware of its surroundings. Have in front of you a poster or wear clothing that reminds you of the country / a landscape ... of the language you are studying. It would be preferable not to work on both languages on the same day.
