'Could not connect to Duolingo. Try starting Session again.' when trying to strengthen

Hey guys,

I'm doing Swedish and am currently at Pres. Perf, so fairly far in.

I've been having this bug on mobile recently (both iPhone 6 and iPad Air 1) where if I want to strengthen some blocks (almost exclusively Verbs), I get the above error. It happens on LTE and various working wifis. The strange thing is that I can strengthen all other skills, but not those verbs.

Trying repeatedly, signing out or closing the app completely doesn't solve it. I can only solve it by logging into the web version and doing the lesson there.

I'd really appreciate a fix.
