I finished my French tree!

[deactivated user]

I have finished my French tree! I'm pretty happy to have gotten this far thanks to duolingo! This is the second tree that I have completed so far, with Spanish being the first tree. I finished Spanish on day 34 of my streak and French on day 90 of that same streak, both started from the beginning. I have been spending at least three hours on most days in the quest to learn another language.

I'm planning on taking English for Indonesian speakers, then take German and apply to help make the Indonesian for English speakers. So I'll still be busy. Many thanks again to duolingo for your awesome courses and those who put these courses together!

I started with only duolingo. I added French to my work transit via youtube videos and recorded music (love Indila!) and will listen to FM radio from France at times at work, work permitting. Not fluent as I'd like to be, but I don't give up easily. Since my wife works at a local college, I'm also planning on taking French there. It should be a breeze but I'll get more detailed information for what duo does lack. Though I still think it's awesome as a first step!

oo Indila, I didn't know her... thanks ;) I'm using spotify with some french playlist. The best thing about that, is that you can check the text of the music.

Thanks Margo, it looks like you could be pretty close on your tree as well. How is the French going? Comment ça va le français ?

Felicitations !! Tres bien ,,, i wanna ask you how good have you been after you finished the French tree?

1)You are too good that you can speak simple conversation?

2)Makes you speak clearly and confident?

I understand simple phrases easily and have no problem saying simple phrases. I can understand most written French easily. I can write fairly well in French. Of course I did rush through because I was enjoying it. But it is not the end. I just had a long text conversation with a Moroccan friend. Really challenging to keep up. Almost all in French. I have several other French pen pals and it takes me a while to compose letters, but still learning. I have Skype friends in Spanish and French and it's a wonderful challenge. So the way I see it duo formed the French skeleton and further study and coversation will put meat on the bones! Me gusta mucho el español. Aussi j'aime beaucoup le français! Je vais á apprends plus ! Hasta la vista baby!
