What are some of the best Swedish bands?

When learning a new language surrounding yourself with that language in every way is extremely helpful and that includes music.

So if you know any good Swedish bands or musicians that would be amazing to share!!!

Thank you

Thanks! :D Yeah, Amon Amarth and Arch Enemy are awesome too, but I assumed she was asking for bands with Swedish lyrics.

Sure. I am listening to the album Carolus Rex right now and I like it. But don't trust me. It is not my normal genre of music. The album, which exists in both English and Swedish versions, tells the stories of the great military defeats and victories of the Swedish empire and the warrior king Karl XII in particular.

My personal favourite is Gyllene Tider. They're quite old but gold.

I like Eleine. Their first album is being released in a couple of weeks.

bob hund! Very clever lyrics sung in a southern (Helsingborg) dialect. Good listening practice! Kent also has well-written lyrics.

If you are into reggae / hip-hop and want a challenge, try Kapten Röd (Captain Red) from Gothenburg. His texts contains many metaphors and lots of symbolism, and you get a fair bit of dialect for your time. Since I am a 'Gothenburger' myself I am a tad biased though :)

My personal favorite is a synth band, Sista Mannen På Jorden. All of the songs are in Swedish, although they have a new CD out called "Translate" which has songs in English. The current lineup features one of the former members of S.P.O.C.K.

In folk, I really like the duo Hazelius Hedin. Swedish lyrics and nice instrumental playing, including lots of nyckelharpa and other folk instruments. I also like Sofia Karlsson. Her 2005 album 'Svarta ballader' has lyrical interpretations of the Swedish poet Dan Andersson, and apparently it won a Swedish Grammy.

In terms of just quality Swedish bands, I like several in rock/metal/jazz, but unfortunately they don't really help with language learning, being in English/growls. :) Opeth, Katatonia, Meshuggah, Cult of Luna, Graveyard, Pain of Salvation and of course there's the old '90s 'Gothenburg sound' melodic death metal bands At the Gates, Dark Tranquility and In Flames.

Esbjörn Svensson Trio was a great jazz group (piano, bass, drums plus some interesting electronic sections at times); not many lyrics though. ;)
