Finished at long last
After over a year of trying to learn Spanish, I finally conquered it. I spent probably 30 minutes a day when I was learning it but after having time off twice (more than a couple months at each time) I had to come back and re gold everything. That was the most painful part of it all. I finally got the little trophy at the end and I got everything golden.
I found through this course that I increased my Spanish vocabulary quite drastically as I had tried to learn the language through other means. This way is the only way I have found that actually gives you a vocabulary that is workable. I feel that after knowing all these things that Duolingo taught me, I could very comfortably start engaging in conversations with native speakers.
I know that I still have a long way to go to achieve total fluency but this I think is a major step in the process. I feel that this is a major step in the right direction but the next step would be to be immersed in the language to actually understand a speak it totally.
It is well worth it to finish and I encourage everyone to go through the entire tree. The strengthen skill is very useful and even though translating documents is tedious, it is really really really useful to learn more and more.
