Inappropriate remarks and sexual inuendo

Has anyone else had problems with receiving inappropriate remarks and sexual inuendo

April 17, 2015

If you've been harassed on Duolingo, email abuse@duolingo.com or tell one of the community moderators.

Yes, do as above, and also try not to engage with the harassers any further. You can block them via the little cogwheel on the top right of their profile. :)

As Deliciae says, do not feed the trolls. Never reply. I'll occasionally respond to the harasser if I see someone else being harassed, but it's best not to reply to inappropriate remarks directed at yourself. Also, check their streams. If you see a pattern of similar behaviour then I would definitely follow m-tastic's advice and email abuse@duolingo.com.

Thanks everyone I really appreciate the advice. I'm really enjoying my Duolingo experience would hate to have to give it up over one insensitive despicable idiot

Depends on the remarks - is it possible that the person is poor at the language and does not understand what they are saying? Maybe I always try to see the good. If they are real pests the don't hesitate to block and report. Hope a few lingots help put a smile back on your face :)

I really like duolingo, and I have never met any problems on that site. However, there still may be some bad people... However, thanks to that site I have improved my English and German a lot, and I really like it. It's much better than any teacher. This site is perfect. I have never seen any inappropriate content on that site. I have just seen some good viagra from https://edrxcare.com/cialis-oral-jelly/ advertisement, and that's all. However, it was appropriate because I am suffering from ED and it's very important for me to use viagra.
