Not a very good lesson
I've enjoyed duolingo very much so far, but this lesson is really bad. They have crammed in too many new words. There's not enough repetition and whenever I try the "practice skill" they add new words!!!! It seems they departed from the model they were using for other lessons. Hope this is not a preview of things to come.
I agree, I'm getting hit very very hard with a lot of new verbs and their conjugations. This whole lessons pack would seem overwhelming to someone without much background. Happy to speak French and Spanish while going through these.
Exactly what I thought, it's like going through a weird kind of Spanish conjugation exercise..
Knowing Spanish does help, I'm a native Spanish speaker and I knew little to no Portuguese, but still I could understand almost everything.
also in this lesson the english translation which is considered correct, is sometimes not correct or various translations should be considered as correct. it is the main problem with this course.
This would be a great lesson to divide into parts, like with Basics 1 and Basics 2. I'd love it if the verbs were organized by conjugation type; I think that would really help my understanding of the grammar.
It's nice to finally be learning so many new verbs, but it's also more overwhelming than nouns or adjectives because of the conjugations.
And why is every other lesson practise about eaitng, drinkin, reading and writing over and over and over again...? Those are well jammed (!) in my brain by this lesson already, and 'd really like to practise the new verbs
I am curious as to when the admin will pay attention to this. There is quite a lot of commentaries already concerning how bad this lesson is. And a few good advices on how to fix this. Meanwhile, I have to use another software to be able to remember all these verbs. This is annoying and defeat the whole purpose of Duolingo.
Too many words, and the solutions are definitely not intuitive or based on previous learning.
I too believe that this lesson is a little too hard. I find that the vocabulary is too broad in this lesson. Maybe take a few of these verbs and put them earlier in the tree and some of them later to break this up a bit. I found that I have to augment my learning elsewhere for this lesson in order to get past it.
