I like Spanish but, come on who doesn't love English?

https://www.duolingo.com/TatianaBoshenka

It's true that English is great! It also has the great advantage to me of being my native language. I love how it borrows freely from everywhere, and how generative it is of new words and phrases. It seems super playful and fun, compared to stodgy languages that have academies going around saying "No! Don't say that! Stop it!" all the time. So English has so much going for it, but still <3 <3 <3 Spanish! <swoons>

I love Spanish spelling :) And for some reason medieval Spanish looks beautiful to me. But I do like how English is so flexible. One thing that annoys me about the English language, however, is that there's no future tense suffix.

Latin first, and then French and Hebrew. Latin sounds so proud and I see fighting Romans before my eyes when I read it. French is so tender that hearing it is like getting stroked. And Hebrew also has a very nice sound I think (and I like the folk music too). And it is also interesting because of its grammar.

I found out about a South-African singer from the 1960s, Miriam Makeba, a little over a year ago, and since then, I've really started to like Xhosa. I love the songs "Click Song", "Pata Pata", "Mbube" (which might be in Zulu?), "Oxgam", "Into Yam", and several others.

I can say that I really don't like the sound of French like a lot of others do. To me, it sounds like a weird mix between Hebrew, Arabic, and Russian, with Italian-esque vocabulary. I do, however, like the sound of Portuguese, or Standard American English with a deep, clear baritone voice, like George Clooney or Seth Macfarlane. Women generally sound nice in any language, though. In terms of a language just sounding interesting, I would say Xhosa.
