DONE!!! Skill tree conquered!!!
Oh, that golden owl looks good! I JUST finished my Italian tree--racing through politics as fast as I could go!
For those of you struggling with some skills, you might be encouraged to know that way down toward the bottom some of the lessons are very very easy--they build on what you already know in ways that are fun and fast. (Then there are the bears, like Past Tense--but let's not go there.)
Some of you will remember my losing my 300+ day streak last October, while I was in Italy. I now have a 165 day streak, and the tree is done.
Now I have some regilding to do, and I've promised myself a subscription to "News in Slow Italian" as my reward for finishing the tree.
Thanks for all the support, hard work, cheers, jokes, funny sentences--"I am a penguin" and "The bear drinks beer" are still my favorites.
See you all in immersion!
Grande! Non preoccuparti dello streak, l'importante è che sei arrivata fino alla fine ;)
Well done, Julia! That is a great accomplishment. Best of luck wherever your Italian studies take you! :D
Amo Italiano!! I've been to Italy so I loved the country before I started the language. The more I learned about the language, the more I fell in love with it. I am hoping to find a conversational class at some point since that is my weakest area of the language.
Congratulations. Very envious. The end of my tree is quite a long way off still. I hope I keep up my current level of work and can get there myself. Enjoy the next steps.
Congratulaioni :D Have fun on your next trip to Italy .. That post was great :))
Congratulations! I'm starting to learn Italian too, but I just keep postponing haha
At first I want to reach level 25 in English/Portuguese
Congratulations Julia, great work. I am down to the Past Tense myself, hope to celebrate in weeks time or so :-) ...
complimenti ... i am curious if the bottom lessons will be easier, because i'm now in the middle of the tree, and i feel that it is quite hard for me. However, what is "News in Slow Italian" that you mentioned?
Once you learn a great deal of the vocabulary and forms in the middle of the tree, some of the lessons at the end will either add new forms or new vocabulary--not both. Or so it seems to me, at least. Learning new endings for verbs you already know is not as hard as learning new endings for new verbs!
News in Slow Italian is a weekly podcast that you can slow down or speed up; it has a transcript, with unusual words or idioms highlighted so you can get an on-screen translation; grammar exercises; and much more. It does cost money, but it's not terribly expensive, and it's fun. One of the features that adds to my respect for them is that they don't automatically extend your subscription--you have to ask them to. No bait and switch.
grazie mille, Julia. I hope to be arrived in your level, as good as possible.
lavoro impressionante solo continuare praticare tutto il vostro duro lavoro pagherà
Congratulations!! This is a great motivation for me. I started learning Italian 2 months back and hope to complete the tree before my trip to Italy, that is in September. I am so excited and motivated!!
Good job, congratulations! :D I finished my Italian tree several days ago. I'm very happy. Duolingo is great, I would recommend it to everyone! I was in Italy 2 months ago and I was able to speak Italian with Italians. Now I am able to understand great part of the songs without looking at lyrics or using translators and dictionaries.
