I had a 125 day streak yesterday but couldn't do my lesson on the laptop so did it on the iphone and had the day added and now today it said I have a 0 day streak and after the lesson am up to 1!!! I checked on the phone and it said 125 but now then went back to 1
In your profile it says that you didn't earn any XP yesterday, probably your iPhone had some connection issue and didn't send the data to Duolingo servers.
It did take a little while "grading" it but ended up giving me the next day in the streak... so do I have to buy it all back with lingots or something or is that too late too? I wasn't sure but just checked and sure enough the iphone also has the same username
No, no, MikaelMello is suggesting that your phone/tablet was maybe not connected to the internet at that point, ans so couldn't tell Duo that you did your lessons.
I do not use the app, so I am not very sure as to how it works, but it could be that it does not update its servers before telling you that. If that is so, yes, it is misleading. But I guess it is easier to implement: to just check locally and tell you if you've reached your goal, and then hope that it updates the server.
To make things worse, I just tried to spend lingots to be able to freeze a streak and it took the lingots but nothing happened. It was not clear to me that you have to do this in advance.
As I said in the original post, I WAITED until it was finished grading and until the day was added so why should I think something else was wrong? It worked as usual, albeit a bit slower, but I still got the 10/10 notice when it was done and the day added as well.
