Alternative to flash for sound.

I would suggest making an alternative to flash. I use gnash but it doesn't work on duolingo. This may be googles fault since translate.google.com doesn't work unless I download flash either.

Doesn't respect it's users freedom.

I am confused about sound in Duolingo. As a free software user I do not use proprietary software like Adobe Flash. I have both Chromium (Chrome without proprietary extensions) and Epiphany as webbrowsers, both supporting HTML5. In Chromium sound works, but in Epiphany I get the message that Duolingo needs Flash. However, in Duolingo Flash is - so I've read - only used for the microphone, but I have turned off the microphone in my settings.
