By the way - i heard somewhere that in native Irish the proper verb for smoking is ól as in táim ag ól tobac. Do ppl actually use it?
Ól is shown as a possible translation for “smoke” in the EID, the FGB, and the NEID — and it’s not marked as an informal usage in the latter. Dinneen noted that caithim as “I smoke” was a Donegal usage in his day.
I think it might be a dialect thing.
I don't understand why this sentence is part of this lesson.
