Is 'serious' used as in 'important, not to be taken lightly', or as in 'not funny', or both.
As with English, it can be used for both.
I thought the same thing.
I'm pretty sure it's none of them - that would be alvorlig - and seriøs is more along the lines of "trustworthy, reputable"
