How to change back to the woman voice?
Is it possible to somewhere switch settings and go back from man voice to woman voice on english-german (I want to learn german) duolingo?
I agree. At first I was impressed that a man's voice had been added, but he is indistinct on a lot of easy words (eg. meiner, seiner?) In my opinion, the woman's voice is definitely easier to understand.
I think we just have to deal with for now. Whatever we think, it is an authentic German sounding voice. You've got a really nice streak going, and I wouldn't jeopardize it for this issue. I don't think too many people are enthusiastic about the man's voice. Try to stick with it for now. Duolingo wants us to learn.
It is not what an authentic German sounds like, at least not what I hear all around me here in Frankfurt (I am an expat who's been here for 7 months now). And I could understand much more German year ago in Berlin than from these recordings. These male recordings simply suck due to the way they cannot be understood. If DL wants us to learn, this male recordings are not the way to do it.
I found the voice quite ease to hear with a headphone. But no, you can't and you probably never will be able to change it. Perhaps if you create another account, because they sort stuff and make experiments on us. I, for one, didn't get the mela voice until this week and now i get it like half of the time.
It would be the best if there were two voices - a man and a woman - and if they were mixed. Or perhaps the woman for learning new lessons, and the man for strengthening...
The idea of having both female and male voices are nice, but the man's voice is quiet unclear and sounds more computer generated.
Feel like a loner, I do like the male voice, I'm finding him easier to understand far more frequently than the female. I do have a question, how is this voice speaking? That is, did someone spend a great deal of time and pronounce thousands of words, is the application splicing spoken words together, is the application reading and pronouncing the words, or ?????
I'm with you - I'm having a very hard time understanding the male voice. It's very unclear and I'm having a hard time understanding basic words that I know (like Hemd).
