What is wrong with "oíche Domhnaigh"? It seemed to me like it was correct, since "Domhnaigh" is the genitive of "Domhnach"...

Your answer translates to "Sunday night". But the lesson wants the Irish for "On Sunday night". You need to put "dé" in between Oiche and Domhnaigh to get that.

...so: 'tá an béile oíche dé domhnaigh' not 'tá an béile oíche domhnaigh' ?

I'm not sure what you're trying to say with "tá an béile oíche dé domhnaigh"

If you're trying to say "Dinner will be on Sunday night", then Beidh an dinnéar ann oíche Dé Domhnaigh might be better.

"the big fight will be on Saturday" - beidh an troid mhór ann Dé Sathairn
"they haven't heard if the meeting is tomorrow or Monday" - níor chuala siad an amárach nó Dé Luain a bheidh an cruinniú ann
