Erdapfel as opposed to Kartoffel. What is the difference? if any? I had forgot the word for potato in a translate to German question, and it showed me 2 correct answer, each involving one of the above. thanks.

Erdapfel is used more in Switzerland and Austria. They mean the same thing, just a dialectal difference.
