Can anyone comment on why it is "det næste" and not just "næste"?
Dim ond dysgwr ydw i (I'm just a learner), so I can't say why it's so. But I have noticed that while it's "Hvad er det næste?" (What's next?), very curiously it's "Hvad er næste step?" (What's the next step?)!
Think of it as being short for "det næste ting".
The nasty thing ;)
Would one be understood if they left out the "det"?
There's no way of knowing that "det" belongs here. It wasn't taught and it makes no sense: "What is it next?"
Why does it need "det"? Doesn't seem like there has been an answer to this yet
In this example, the word "det" has to be written or it would be wrong like in the "jeg ved det ikke" example where you cannot ommit the object?
Yeah, I do not get why there is, set, in the sentence
