Adjust Ratio of Reading : Writing exercises

Most of the exercises require me to read a Spanish sentence and write out an English translation. How can I change the ratio of reading-to-writing exercises? I find that reading in a foreign language allows my brain the luxury of guessing instead of learning. If I had to WRITE out a sentence in a foreign language, I'd be forced to actually understand what I'm writing and why I'm writing it.

This has been asked a lot lately and the answer is: You can't. You can however exploit Duo's tendency to ask NewLanguage->OldLanguage questions by starting to learn English from Spanish. You're probably good enough to take the first or second shortcut. :)

It isn't ideal since you'll miss the Spanish voice-over but most of exercises you'll get are translations English -> Spanish. Just be sure to turn off sound lest you get English voice-over exercises.

    Good luck :)
