I don't think it can be any faster than when you use duolingo. It only depends on how fast you can get it inside your head. It helps to understand the grammar, though, so if you don't have much understanding of declinations and such things yet, I'd recommend to take some additional time to look into that.

How to learn german faster?...Well, I'm looking for those tips as well ;). But, what I can say right now it's that you can watch Extr@ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urQYFFMIVJs . You can also write wherever you want (In german, of course) and people will correct you in Lang-8 http://lang-8.com/ And these pages: http://www.aprendealeman.com/frases/ - http://www.curso-de-aleman.de/index.htm - http://www.alemansencillo.com/ - http://www.zdf.de/ZDFmediathek/#/beitrag/video/1978334/Auf-der-Kippe - http://www.ardmediathek.de/fernsehen - And you can try visit this german newspaper every day, eventually you will understand a little more, don't expect to understand everything. http://www.bild.de/ I hope it helps. Try to repeat the lessons in Duolingo before taking a new lesson, until it gets easier. Enter to vocabulary, and while you scroll down, if you see a word you don't remember, practice only that word. (Click on the word and then press the blue button "Practice word"). And that is really fast, 'cause there are only 2 or 4 exercises per word.

You can also read children's books here: http://childrensbooksforever.com/childrenpages/German1.html They are easy to follow. Hope it helps.

You should really buy a grammar book if you don't owe one yet.
There's nothing on Duo to collect all the necessary grammar info, so it helps greatly to have a book.

I say that about every language and I use them for every language I learn, so this is probably as valid in German. But buy one in your native language (that teaches you German) because you really need to understand the rules.

Then whenever you do a new lesson on Duo, read/learn/reread the proper grammar chapter to go with it.
