"learned an Ukrainian skill"

After completing a lesson, the message that shows up on one's profile is "___ learned an Ukrainian skill."

Do people say "an Ukrainian"? Where I'm from, we would only say "a Ukrainian."

Thank you, I wasn't sure where to bring it up.

Same, but it's probably an automatic script that detects 'Ukrainian' begins with a vowel and just decides to throw 'an' before it. :P

I was thinking the same thing. I just wanted to make sure it's not just a regional thing.

Same for me. Just like how "an unicorn" sounds weird.
