Special characters for Ukrainian

I was thinking: why not add the characters unique to Ukrainian (including ï and inverse э) under the text box when there’s a need to type in Ukrainian? I don’t have the extra Ґ key on my keyboard, so it could solve a lot of issues for me, and I suppose for many others...

Which platform and keyboard are you using? There is usually a way to assign a key or key combination (with alt) to produce it.

I have a standard Russian keyboard.

At least Linux comes with a layout based on the Russian one that combines Russian and Ukrainian. I'm not aware of a Windows version that's exactly the same, but you might find something here.

I don’t have a keyboard with the physical keys for these extra characters. I don’t have an AltGr key, nor a key between Z and Shift.

AltGr is your right Alt and you don't need the key between shift and z as the letters on these keys appear elsewhere.

Looked it up. Apparently holding down Ctrl+Alt+U on Ukrainian produces it.

Why don't they put all characters under the box so we (who wants) just point to them with the mouse, changing keyboard all the time is hindering the process
