Took me a moment to realise this meant plant aka factory, not plant aka a green thing growing in the ground. I was reeeeally confused for a moment ;)

That would be a really strange sentence ._.

The really silly thing is I'm fairly sure завод or something similar means factory in Russian, so in theory I really should've known that. But for a second I was just staring at the screen going "What?" 8-D

Завод in Russian is also завод. Factory we usually translate as фабрика (Russian also has this word and spelling is the same, but pronunciation is different).
Basically, завод is where machinery and such is produced, фабрика -light industry. Food is a strange thing as some types of food are produced на заводі, some на фабриці

You are right! 'Factory' is the preferable translation for 'завод', not 'plant' which could make it confusing.

The voice says "ідЕте", but shouldn't it be "ідетЕ"?

You're absolutely right

Should be "ви йдете" as far as spelling goes. Regardless of the завод vs фабрика discussion. .

Shouldn't "do you go to the factory" also be accepted?
