"Sie haben ein sehr gutes Fleisch."

Why do we need the 'ein'?

April 4, 2013

Yes, I am also wondering why the indefinite article is used here!

Why is the suggested translation only "pretty good", rather than "very good"? I would have thought that was the difference between "ziemlich" and "sehr".

why gutes?

"Gutes", because "Fleisch" is Neuter.

Whenever you have a neuter nominativ or akkusativ noun, with an INDEFINITE article, such as ein, the adjective takes on the -es ending.

Das ist ein süßes Baby - That is a cute baby.

Mein schlechtes Handy ist kaputt - My bad cellphone is broken.

Why doesn't 'quality' work here, when it is accepted in other places on Duolingo? As in "They have quality meat".
