so frustrating when English usage is refused even when it is provided as a possible translation by the site!!! In the Uk we really would NOT say guy!!!!

I'm pretty sure "guy" or "guys" was not that commonly used by native Texans 30 years ago either. It is rather ubiquitous now. Even I use it now but It feels odd. It seems too masculine to use to address a woman and too feminine to address a man.

I would say "he is a good sort". Also not an option.

also, "tipo" might mean "guy", or "sort" in slang, but it literally means "type".

I agree; following Duolingo´s translation suggestions a better translation would be "Actually, he is a good man/fellow"
