why is it ''sekeri'' and not with a ''ğ'' ?

The k-to-ğ change happens when the k is at the end of the word. (For example, ördek -> ördeği.) The k here is in the middle of şeker, so it doesn't change.

Selam,

Why not "şekeri ayı yer" Like in "Birayı ayı içer"

why is the word bear has the 'the' in the first of the sentence while in other texts the begging of the sentence does not have the 'the' for example kedi ekmeği yer is transelated before as the cat eats the bread although it is 'kedi' not 'kediyi' does this has an explanation or is it just duolingo?
