én er overflødig. Hvilken sandwich er din.- lyder mere dansk.

Can that én really not be ommited?

My Danish boyfriend says that he personally wouldn't use én with hvilken.

Which, and which one mean exactly the same thing. So there is no need for én.

That being true for English is not a good reason to assume it's true for Danish too.

    Why is smørrebrød wrong?

Smørrebrød is one slice of bread with something on it, sandwich is 2 slices with something between. And a kebab is a sandwich made with pita, not bread. Duolingo is very strict.
