Esperanto is a gateway drug to other languages...

It makes me want to learn every Romance language ever, lol.

Agreed. Even though Esperanto is a made up language, I feel it's all romance languages combined into one. To me, it sounds like Spanish and at times German.

It sounds like a little Spanish + European Portuguese + Romanian + a touch of French + a dash of Russian + a tiny bit of German + something else.

Some Latin's in there too. Viro and homo, for example.

If Esperanto is a drug, does that make you one of our dealers? :)

Tute. Mi lernas la hispanan kaj la germanan, kaj ankaŭ la ukrainan, ĉion pro mia laboro kun Esperanto. Efektiva droga!

I don't know Esperanto (and probably I won't study it), but I've always liked the Romance languages... all of them! They are beautiful!

It does sound kind of Romance-y, though as far as its working goes, it doesn't feel very Romance language-y to me.

Esperanto is definitely a gateway drug, though!
