A Brilliant Journey
I've now reached the end of my intense and dazzling Italian tree. I've sincerely enjoyed learning such a bella e meravigliosa lingua.
I feel quite privileged to have been born in an age where we have such vast digital learning resources at our fingertips; I can only imagine how much more difficult learning a language would have been 100 years ago.
Although I'm half Greek, I have Italian relatives and have grown up around Italian culture; I'm happy to say I can easily partake in basic Italian conversations with them now, thanks to Duo.
Duo has given me the ambition to master the language and for that I'm truly grateful. I'm especially indebted at their generosity of providing this free of charge, when realistically they don't have to.
Thanks to all of you for the continued support maintained within the Duo community as well, your help has been truly accommodating; grazie mille.
I'm now going to complete the reverse tree, complete specific verb drill lessons (such as past tense) and improve my listening. Any advice on resources and further progression would be much appreciated.
I hope to meet you all over in Immersion. :)
Thanks once again, Duo.
I like your nice writing about Duo and I totally agree with you. I'd found Duo before I started my private Spanish class. It was good beginning for me. Because I was familiar to some topics owing to Duo. Unfortunately because of my intense programs I couldn't continue constantly. But at least now I am B1 level Spanish :) And few days ago I started to learn Italian, thanks to Duo of course. And here in Izmir, I have two friends from Italia so I can practise with them. I hope I will reach your level some day. I congratulate on your preogress and success.
By the way you said you're half Greek. Some day, I'd like to learn Greek also. I hope Duo will give us an opportunuty to learn Greek..
Have a nice day.
Hi, Haleogzus :) Thanks for taking the time to reply. Congratulations on beginning Italian. If you need any support feel free to follow each other; I'd be more than happy to. Did you know that Greek is currently in the incubator for English speakers?
Hi fabriziodacosta :) This is a great news. I didn't know, 'cause I couldn't see in the list. I'm looking forward it. Thanks for your polite reply and the very good news ;)
Very well stated. We are indeed most fortunate to have this opportunity to learn with Duo! Congratulations on your achievement.
For conversational skills, you might want to try Pimsleur. It helped me with my relatives. Unfortunately, they only have Greek I and II. For Italian, they have Italian I,II and III. I can't wait until Duo offers the Greek course.
- For someone who is learning english at level 4, you are really good. is english your first language?
- do you also speak greek?
Hi, Becca! English is my first language, but I appreciate your kind words. I'm level 4 as I've began the reverse tree :) I do speak a little Greek(not fluently); I'm eagerly anticipating the release of the English to Greek course. How about you?
