In the middle of the Eurasian continent, the temperature difference is big, no ocean to keep the temperature up or down. That means both cold winters and hot summers. Depending on where in Russiia, of course.

That's exactly so! The amplitude of temperature changes is huge, also during one season. But that makes life more interesting)

"Summer" is a relative term.

I know people from Novosibirsk, and their summers are stone-splittingly hot.

I was born in Novosibirsk and I confirm that :)

The record high is 36.6°. Pretty warm, sure, but not what I would call stone-splitting.

And usually a hot one, but really short.

Russia is a hardy people--only need two month of summer. Not like softer country that have extra summer. To replace excess summer we have fifth season--vodka--which gets part of Spring. For great hardiness. Voice of this post

Jes, "somero"

Shouldn't there be a comma between "aŭgusto" and "estas?" Aren't they different clauses?
