I love how early language learning sentences all sound like they are detailing meeting of spies during the Cold War. She has a red rose. He has a blue hat. They meet at the café by the river. There is a newspaper stand nearby. Do you have an umbrella? No, I left it at the University. The black cat wakes at dawn. And so on...


They do have a decidedly quaint feel about them :)
