it's sound similiar to "ik schrijven boek". But i realize it's not on the context to use schrijven instead of schrijf

How do you tell the difference between "I am writing a book" and "I write a book"?

In other languages you just get it from the context. So far I haven't learned any other language that distinguishes it the way English does.

They're often said the same way "Ik schrijf een boek" but if you wanted to stress that it's a progressive phrase you could say "Ik ben een boek aan het schrijven"
