Is it better to be "Ni manĝas anasaĵon"? Ĉu estas pli bone esti "Ni manĝas anasaĵon"?

If you are eating a whole roasted duck, as opposed to, say, duck confit or curry, should you say "anaso" instead of "anasajxo"

It's not about a whole duck vs duck as an ingredient, but rather the idea that the duck able to be eaten. From PIV http://vortaro.net/#-a%C4%B5- 3. (post rad-oj montrantaj manĝeblajn bestojn aŭ materialon) manĝaĵon faritan el tiu materialo

So anaso is the animal and anasaĵo is the animal after it has been prepared as food.

I don't know how that works when a wolf eats a duck since the wolf just tears into the duck without much preparation. But I would say that if the sentence above is spoken by a human, then it should be anasaĵo.
