There's probably a reason behind that though
I think it's just an example of comparative and superlative. Although "the biggest" is common in English since many things can be big, or bigger, but normally only one is the biggest.
There were nearly no differences that I could discern between his pronunciations of pli and plej.
I heard pli as "plee" and plej as "play" - so maybe they've changed it. I think it's fine now. 2020.10.30
