My first thought here was "I get applications every week and I jump on them", thought the moderators were getting very creative ;)

Wouldn't "requests" work as a definition for "iarratais" too?

Yes it would. Requests should be accepted. The range of acceptable answers is too small

same happened for me

How can anyone hear iarratais? That beats me! I tried quite a number of times and got something like "iarpais" of course without understanding, even after seing the word. I already knew that if you hear a "a" it's probably written with a "o or "u" and if you hear a "i" it will be "ao, aoi, io..." but that's even better...

It's there. It's just subtle

It's there. It's just subtle, as people are when speaking their native language.
