Couldn't this be 'turn to the left'?

Duolingo, é "vire à esquerda", meu velho.

desculpa, mas vira está totalmente correto. é o imperativo para "tu" e vire para "você". Ambas são aceitáveis.

Sim, Paulenrique. Mas a minha queixa principal é por que o Duolingo não aceita a outra forma correta (vire à esquerda) se ambas estão corretas?!

Just curious, is there a difference between "vira" and "gira"?

Virar = to turn

Girar = to rotate, to spin

I think all these options should be accepted:

  • Turn left

  • Turn the left

  • Turn to the left

  • Turn on the left

What do you guys think?

"Turn left" and "Turn to the left" are commonly used. The other two aren't used in AmE.

Also very common "Make a left turn" and "Make a left".

Can I say "Dobra à esquerda! ou Dobre à esquerda!"?

I've never heard it so far, but I can't say it is not used in Portuguese...
