I am really pleased to see this here. Great intertextuality.
Somebody at Duolingo is a Douglas Adams fan
And Duolingo also accepts "So long, and thanks for all the fish!"
Wish we could have more of these humorous sentences. Does anyone else remember the one about living in an apple?
I was wondering if they would allow "so long" for "adieu." Great Douglas Adams reference.
Great Hitchhiker's reference!
Why is it not tous les poissons?
I think they're treating "fish" as an uncountable substance (i.e. the food) rather than a countable object (i.e. the animal).
Oh man, finally! I kept thinking about it in French and English but couldn't figure it out. This makes sense. Thank you!
I also have this question
J'aime le guide hitchiker
En fait, le guide de l'autostopper
