I know, it's år, but I'm usually too lazy to find the special letters that I don't have on my German keybord, when I comment somewhere ;)

If they're not available, use these transcriptions instead, as to not confuse them with a or o. Not doing so can lead to unfortunate mistranslations ...

æ = ae

ø = oe

å = aa

If you have windows, then go to control panel then go under Clock, Language and Region after that click Add a language once you are there it should be self explanatory. Btw i think it works for windows 7-10

You can also use numpad. It's what I prefer over clicking the buttons.

æ = alt + 0230 ø = alt + 0248 å = alt + 0229

This way is easier (at least for me)

ø=alt+155 å=alt+134 æ=alt+145

I believe Duolingo is talking about the solar system.

In this sentence, what should alert me that "gammelt" should be used instead of "gammel"?

Is it one of those cheeses or fish that you bury in the ground in Norway?
